2018 Youth & Young Adult Point-in-Time Count
The annual Youth Point-in-Time (PIT) Count was conducted on November 7, 2018. This count focused on unaccompanied youth and young adults (under the age of 25) experiencing homelessness. The result of the count found 183 youth and young adults were experiencing homelessness on the evening of November 7. 2018. This is an increase of 96 individuals from the 2017 Youth PIT. This increase can be explained due to the community focusing on improving its Youth PIT methodology. This resulted in improved coverage of unsheltered youth and young adults, as well as, the inclusion of McKinney-Vento data. The outcome was a more comprehensive data set and a more accurate count of youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.
