City of Indianapolis
The City of Indianapolis (Department of Metropolitan Development) fulfills two important responsibilities for the Continuum of Care (CoC).
The Collaborative Applicant is designated by the CoC to submit the annual CoC Consolidated Application to HUD for homelessness funding.
The City receives HUD-awarded funds to impact homelessness. HUD directly awards the City CoC Program money, who then manages the program contracts with the service providers who provide housing and services.
In addition to their role with the CoC, the City is also responsible for Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
As a key partner in securing and administering funds to prevent and end homelessness, the City has an important role in ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and the implementation of best practices in the CoC.
