Point-in-Time Count

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires each Continuum of Care to conduct a census of individuals and families experiencing homelessness who are sheltered in emergency shelter, transitional housing, and safe havens on a single night. The data and findings from recent PIT Count explore the issue of homelessness in Marion County and inform policy makers and service providers.
